After her studies, Jane Duncan started her own company called Jane Duncan Architects. She established this company in 1992. As an architect, she helps create plans for new buildings and makes sure they are safe and well-designed.
Leading the RIBA
Jane Duncan was chosen to be the president of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). RIBA is a very important group for architects in the UK. She was elected in August 2014, receiving more than half of the votes.
She officially became the 75th president of RIBA on September 1, 2015. Her time as president ended on September 1, 2017. After her term, Ben Derbyshire took over as the new president.
