Janet Hetherington facts for kids
Janet L. Hetherington is a talented Canadian writer and artist. She was born on November 19, 1955, in Toronto, Ontario. Janet is well-known for her work in the world of comic books.
In 1999, she won a special award called the Prix Aurora Award. This award celebrates excellent work in Canadian science fiction. Janet received it for helping to create an amazing exhibit called "60 Years of Superman."
Creating Comic Books
Janet L. Hetherington has been making comic books since the early 1990s. She works with her partner, Ronn Sutton, at their studio called Hetherington / Sutton Studios in Ottawa.
Teamwork and Projects
Janet and Ronn often work together on many different projects. They also work on their own. One cool project they helped with was for Canada Post. They designed special materials for a very popular "Superhero Stamp" series in 1995.
This stamp series showed famous comic book characters who were created in Canada. Some of these heroes included Superman, Nelvana of the Northern Lights, Johnny Canuck, Captain Canuck, and Fleur de Lys.
