Janet Varney is an American actress, comedian, writer, and producer. She is well-known for being the voice of Korra in the popular Nickelodeon animated TV series The Legend of Korra. She also played Sheriff Evie Barret in the TV show Stan Against Evil. You might also recognize her as Becca Barbara from You're the Worst.
Besides acting, Janet hosts The JV Club podcast. She also co-hosts the Avatar: Braving the Elements podcast with Dante Basco. Janet is a co-founder and creative director of SF Sketchfest. This is a long-running comedy festival in San Francisco.

Janet Varney grew up in Tucson, Arizona. She finished high school in 1993. She then went to San Francisco State University. There, she studied theater and earned her degree in 1997. After college, she first tried a career in interior design. However, she soon returned to her passion for acting.

Janet Varney started her TV career in 2004. She appeared on the Comedy Central show Crossballs. She has been a guest star on many shows. These include Bones, Better Off Ted, and How I Met Your Mother. She also had recurring roles on shows like Entourage and You're the Worst.
In 2012, Janet helped create Neil's Puppet Dreams. This show featured Neil Patrick Harris. That same year, she began her most famous voice role. She became the voice of Korra in The Legend of Korra. This animated series was a spin-off of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Janet voiced Korra for all four seasons until 2014. She continued voicing Korra in video games for a decade.
