Japreece Dean's Basketball Journey
Japreece started her basketball journey at Vista Ridge High School in Cedar Park, Texas. After high school, she played college basketball.
College Career
Japreece began her college career playing for Texas Tech from 2015 to 2017. She then transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2017. She played for the UCLA Bruins until 2020.
During her time at UCLA, Japreece was recognized for her excellent play. She was named First-team All-Pac-12 twice, in both 2019 and 2020. This award shows she was one of the best players in her conference.
Professional Draft
In 2020, Japreece Dean was drafted into the WNBA. She was the 30th player picked overall in the third round. The Chicago Sky team chose her to join their professional roster.
Family Support
Japreece comes from a family that loves basketball. She has two brothers. Her mother also played college basketball for Frank Phillips College. Her father used to be a scout for high school basketball players. It seems basketball runs in her family!
