Paulo Sergio "Jared" Gomes, also known as Jahred and M.C.U.D. (which means "MC Underdog"), is an American singer and rapper. He was born on February 29, 1964. Jared Gomes is most famous as the lead singer of the band Hed PE.

About Jared Gomes

Jared Gomes was born Paulo Sergio Gomes in Fort Worth, Texas. His mother has roots from Indigenous Brazilian people. His father has Afro-Brazilian heritage.

Jared started his music career as the lead singer for a new wave band called The Clue. This band was active from 1984 to 1990. After that, he led another band called Live Urban Sexx Tribe from 1991 to 1994.

Later, he met guitarist Wes Geer in the Orange County hardcore punk music scene. They decided to form a band together. They brought in guitarist Chizad, bassist Mawk, drummer B.C. Vaught, and DJ Product 1969.

They first named their group "Hed," which stood for "higher education." The band became popular by giving exciting performances at local places like Club 369. They released an album they paid for themselves called Church of Realities.

Because of some legal issues, Hed had to change their name. They added "PE," which stands for "Planet Earth." So, the band became "Hed PE."

The band signed a deal with Jive Records. However, they later found it hard to pay back the money the record label had given them. Jared Gomes once said that they had big dreams about the music industry. They thought it would be cool to be a punk band on a rap label. He mentioned that while they achieved that dream, it also caused some problems. They owed Jive Records a lot of money. This meant they couldn't accept offers from other labels like Sony.

After making two more albums with Jive Records, the band decided to leave. They started releasing their music independently. Eventually, they signed with Suburban Noize Records.

Jared Gomes has also shared that he would like to record a solo album. This album would be in the hip hop style. He said he just needs to find the time to do it. He wants to be more disciplined with his time.
