Jasmin is a small place in Kern County, California. It's known as an "unincorporated community." This means it doesn't have its own local city government. Instead, it's managed by the larger county it's in. Jasmin is located in the sunny state of California, in the United States.
Where is Jasmin?
Jasmin is found in the central part of California. It's about 6.5 miles (10.5 kilometers) northeast of a town called McFarland. You can find Jasmin along the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks. It sits at an elevation of about 453 feet (138 meters) above sea level. This means it's higher than the ocean, but not super high up in the mountains.
A Glimpse into Jasmin's Past
For a time, Jasmin was known by a slightly different name: Jasmine. This name was used when the community had its own post office. The Jasmine post office was open for about ten years, from 1913 to 1923. Post offices were very important back then for sending letters and packages.
