Jasmine Burke grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. She went to Kennesaw State University. There, she studied both theatre and business. This helped her prepare for her acting career.

Jasmine started her acting journey with small parts in movies. Some of her early films include Daddy's Little Girls (2007) and The Secret Life of Bees (2008). She also appeared in Mississippi Damned (2009).
On television, she had roles in several popular shows. These include The Vampire Diaries, Drop Dead Diva, and Army Wives. She also appeared in the VH1 movie Drumline: A New Beat. In 2015, she played the main character, Jolie, in the movie Skinned.
