Jason French was born on April 7, 1978. He is a former professional Canadian football player. He played as a slotback, which is a type of receiver. Jason was chosen by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 2001 CFL Draft. He also played college football for the Murray State Racers.

College Football Journey
Jason French went to Murray State University for two years. Before that, he transferred from Middle Georgia College. At Murray State, he was one of the top receivers on his team.
In his first year, he caught 31 passes for 547 yards. He also scored three touchdowns. During his last year, he caught 24 passes for 195 yards and one touchdown. This made him the fourth-best receiver for the Racers that season.
Professional Football Career
Playing for the Saskatchewan Roughriders
The Saskatchewan Roughriders picked Jason French in the 2001 CFL Draft. This was his start in professional football. In his first year, he caught 12 passes for 197 yards.
In 2002, his second year, Jason played in 15 games. He had 16 catches for 218 yards. The next year, 2003, he played in every game for the Roughriders. He scored his very first professional touchdown that season. He finished with 37 catches for 385 yards and two touchdowns.
The 2004 season was a great one for Jason. He started 13 games, playing both slotback and wide receiver. In one game, he had a career-high six catches for 129 yards. Overall, he caught 52 passes for 869 yards and four touchdowns. Because of his excellent play, Jason was nominated for the CFL's Top Canadian Award.
In 2005, Jason started 16 games, missing only two due to an injury. He had a fantastic game in week five, catching 11 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown. For the whole season, he made 52 catches for 601 yards and three touchdowns. In 2006, he started half of the Roughriders' games. He also played in both playoff games. He finished the season with 28 catches for 335 yards and one touchdown.
Moving to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats
On June 24, 2007, Jason French was traded to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He moved there along with Thyron Anderson. In a game on August 13, 2007, against the Edmonton Eskimos, something cool happened. Another player from Murray State, Andrew Nowacki, scored his first touchdown. Just one minute later, Jason French also caught a touchdown pass!
For the 2007 season, Jason played for both Saskatchewan and Hamilton. He had 34 catches for 417 yards. He also tied his career high with four touchdowns. In 2008, which was his last professional season, he did not record any offensive stats.
