About Jason Mohammad

Jason grew up in Cardiff, Wales. His father was from Pakistan, and his mother was Welsh. He went to Glyn Derw High School in Cardiff.

After school, he studied Welsh and Politics at Swansea University. Later, he went to Cardiff University to study broadcast journalism. In January 2024, he became a Pro Chancellor for Cardiff University. This means he helps lead the university. Jason is also a Muslim.

Jason's Career in Media

Jason Mohammad started his career in media in 1996. He has worked on many different shows for both television and radio.

Television Work

Jason joined BBC Cymru Wales in 1997. He started as a reporter for BBC Wales Today, which is a news program. Later, he became the main presenter for Wales on Saturday.

In 2013, Jason took over as the host of Final Score on BBC One. On this show, he talks about football results and highlights with sports experts called pundits. He had been a reporter for the show for many years before becoming the host.

Jason has also presented other sports shows, like Scrum V specials about rugby. He has also covered snooker for BBC Sport. He is sometimes a presenter for Match of the Day and Match of the Day 2, filling in for other hosts.

Jason has been a part of the BBC's team for many major sports events around the world:

Radio Work

Before becoming a journalist, Jason was part of Radio City 1386AM. This was a hospital radio service in Singleton Hospital.

Today, Jason hosts a show on Monday to Wednesday afternoons on BBC Radio Wales. He has also filled in for other presenters on BBC Radio 2. Since the 2016–17 football season, he has been a co-host of BBC Radio 5 Live's football phone-in show, 606, with Robbie Savage. He also sometimes presents 5 Live Sport.

Since February 2018, he has been a regular co-presenter of Good Morning Sunday on Radio 2.
