Jaylin Malik Davis (born July 1, 1994) is an American professional baseball player. He plays as an outfielder for the Milwaukee Milkmen. This team is part of the American Association of Professional Baseball. Jaylin has also played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Francisco Giants and Boston Red Sox. He played college baseball before starting his professional career.

Early Baseball Days
High School and College Play
Jaylin Davis grew up in McLeansville, North Carolina. He went to Northeast Guilford High School. There, he was a great hitter. His batting average was very high each year. In his senior year, he was named an all-state player. He was also the conference player of the year.
After high school, Jaylin went to Appalachian State University. He studied health promotion there. He also played college baseball for the university team. In 2013, he was recognized as a top freshman player in the country. The Minnesota Twins baseball team noticed his talent. They picked him in the 24th round of the 2015 MLB draft. This was his first step toward becoming a professional player.
Professional Baseball Journey
Starting with the Minnesota Twins
Jaylin began his professional career in 2016. He played for different teams in the Minnesota Twins system. He showed his power by hitting 16 home runs in his first season. In 2017, he continued to play well. He hit 15 home runs and had 66 RBIs. RBIs mean he helped his teammates score runs.
By 2018, Jaylin was playing for the Fort Myers Miracle. He was even named an All-Star in that league. He kept hitting home runs and driving in runs. In 2019, he started with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. He became an All-Star there too. Later that year, he moved up to the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings. He was named the Player of the Month in July for his great hitting.
Playing for the San Francisco Giants
In July 2019, Jaylin was traded to the San Francisco Giants. This was a big moment in his career. He joined the Giants' Triple-A team, the Sacramento River Cats. That year, between all his minor league teams, he hit an amazing 35 home runs! He also stole 10 bases and had 94 RBIs.
On September 4, 2019, Jaylin made his Major League Baseball debut. This means he played his first game in the big leagues. He got his first hit that night. A few weeks later, he hit his first MLB home run. It was a "walk-off" home run, which means it won the game for his team! He played a few games with the Giants in 2019 and 2020.
In 2021, Jaylin had a challenge. He was placed on the injured list because of a knee problem. He worked hard and was able to return to play later that year. He continued to play for the Triple-A Sacramento team.
Time with the Boston Red Sox
In April 2022, the Boston Red Sox picked up Jaylin. He joined their Triple-A team, the Worcester Red Sox. Soon after, he was called up to play for the Boston Red Sox in MLB. He played some games for both the minor league and major league teams that season. He hit well in his limited time with the Red Sox.
Jaylin moved between the Red Sox's major league and minor league teams. He was sometimes called up and sometimes sent back down. This is common for many baseball players. He became a free agent in October 2022.
New Teams and Current Play
In 2023, Jaylin signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets. He played for their Single-A and Triple-A teams. He hit 14 home runs and had 48 RBIs that year.
In May 2024, Jaylin signed with the Milwaukee Milkmen. This team is part of an independent league. He continues to play as an outfielder for them. He has hit 13 home runs and had 48 RBIs for the Milkmen.
