Jean François de Noailles (born August 28, 1658 – died June 23, 1692) was a French nobleman. He was known by his special title, the Marquis of Noailles. A marquis was a noble who ranked below a duke but above a count.
Jean François was an important member of the House of Noailles, a very powerful and well-known family in France. He also held a military rank called Maréchal de camp. This was a high position in the French army, similar to a brigadier general today.
Jean's Family Life
Jean François de Noailles married Marguerite Thérèse Rouillé in 1687. Together, they had two daughters.
- Louise Antoinette de Noailles was born on February 25, 1688. Sadly, she passed away when she was very young, on August 21, 1690.
- Anne Catherine de Noailles later married Armand de Vignerot du Plessis, who was the Duke of Richelieu. They did not have any children.
