Her father, John Clement Bell, was a senior partner in a company called Clayton and Bell. This company was famous for making stained glass, which are colorful glass windows often seen in churches. Jeanne's brother, Reginald Bell, and her nephew, Michael Farrar-Bell, were also artists. This artistic family background likely inspired her.

Her Artistic Creations

Jeanne Bell was very creative with the materials she used. She made small statues, often called statuettes. These were crafted from materials like bronze, ivory, wood, and alabaster. Alabaster is a soft, white stone that is easy to carve. Besides human figures, she also loved making animal sculptures. For these, she often used terracotta (a type of clay) and glazed earthenware. Glazed earthenware has a shiny, smooth finish.

Exhibitions and Recognition

Jeanne Bell was a well-known artist who regularly showed her sculptures to the public. She was a frequent exhibitor at the famous Royal Academy in London. This is a very important place for artists to show their work. She displayed about 37 of her sculptures there between 1927 and 1966. This shows how active she was for many years!

She also exhibited her art in other important places. These included the Society of Women Artists, the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, and the Royal Miniature Society. She passed away in Dinton, Buckinghamshire. She had lived there for many years after moving from London.
