Jeannie Ugyuk is an Inuk politician from Canada. She was chosen to represent the people of Nattilik in the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut in 2010. This happened during a special election called a by-election. The Nattilik area included the towns of Gjoa Haven and Taloyoak, Nunavut. Jeannie Ugyuk was one of only two women in the Nunavut government at that time, alongside Premier Eva Aariak.
In the 2013 general election, Jeannie Ugyuk ran for a new area called Netsilik. This area included Taloyoak and Kugaaruk. She was the only person running for this spot, so she won easily. After the election, she was chosen to be the Family Services Minister. This meant she was in charge of important programs for families in Nunavut.
In November 2015, the government held a special vote to decide if the ministers were doing a good job. As a result of this vote, a decision was made to remove Jeannie Ugyuk from her role as minister. Before the final discussion on this, she decided to step down from her minister position and also as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). A new election was held within six months to find someone new for her seat.
