Jeffrey E. Cardoni (born January 10, 1972) is an American composer who creates music for movies and TV shows. If you've ever watched the show Young Sheldon, you've heard his work—he wrote the theme song, "Mighty Little Man."
As a composer, Cardoni's job is to write the background music, called a score, that helps make scenes feel exciting, funny, or sad. He is a multi-instrumentalist, which means he can play many different instruments, including the piano, guitar, and even a musical saw!

From Piano Lessons to Hollywood
Jeff Cardoni's musical journey started when he was just seven years old with classical piano lessons. As he got older, he learned to play drums and guitar and joined several bands. For a short time, he was even part of the rock band Alien Crime Syndicate.
After high school, Cardoni went to Pennsylvania State University to study engineering. But his love for music was strong. While on tour with his band, he was encouraged to take classes on writing music for films. He loved it so much that he decided to make it his career.
How He Creates Music
Cardoni has a special way of writing music. He often starts by hand, writing down melodies on paper, much like composers did long ago. He believes in creating strong, memorable tunes.
While he uses modern computers and technology, he prefers to use real instruments whenever he can. This mix of old-school melody and modern tech helps him create unique sounds for his projects. For some scores, he has even used unusual instruments like bowed xylophones and autoharps to make the music stand out.
