Jeff Martin was chosen by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 1989 NBA draft. He played for two seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Olympic Team Invitation
In 1988, Jeff Martin made history for Murray State and the Ohio Valley Conference. He was invited to try out for the U.S. Basketball Team for the Olympic Games. This was a big deal because it was the last time professional players were not allowed on the team. Even though he didn't make the final team, his performance really impressed many people.
College Achievements
In 1989, Jeff Martin was named an All-American, which means he was recognized as one of the best college players in the country. His jersey number, 15, was also retired by Murray State. This is a special honor given to players who have made a huge impact on their team. He is still the all-time leading scorer for the Murray State men's basketball program, with an amazing 2,484 points!

He also played for Baloncesto Salamanca and Baloncesto Fuenlabrada in Spain, and Besançon Basket and Montpellier Basket in France.
He also returned to the U.S. at times to play in other leagues. He played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) mostly for the Grand Rapids Hoops. He was recognized as one of the best players in the CBA. He was chosen for the All-CBA Second Team three times: in 1992, 1994, and 1999.
