How Jeff Probst Became the Host of Survivor

Jeff Probst is best known as the host of Survivor. This popular reality show started in 2000. He really wanted to host the show because he thought it was "something special."

The show's creator, Mark Burnett, noticed Probst in 1999. Probst was interviewing actress Sandra Bullock for Access Hollywood. Burnett was impressed because Probst could get honest answers from celebrities. He felt that Probst's fresh face would help build the show from the beginning.

Probst delivers the famous line to contestants who are voted off: "The tribe has spoken. It's time for you to go." This line was even named one of the "100 Greatest TV Quotes" in 2006.
