The Story of Jefferson
Jefferson started in 1886. This was the year a railroad line was built to reach that spot. The town was named after Albert Jefferson Broadbent. He was the person who originally owned the land where Jefferson was built.
Past Services
A post office opened in Jefferson in 1888. It helped people send and receive mail for many years. However, the post office eventually closed down in 1954.
