Jeffrey Mumford has also shared his knowledge with students. He is a Distinguished Professor at Lorain County Community College in Ohio. He holds this special title with poet Bruce Weigl.

Before this, he taught at the Washington Conservatory of Music. He also worked at Bowling Green State University. He was an Artist-in-Residence there, which means he was a special guest artist. Mumford also taught at the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music.
