Early Life and Education
Jehan Gordon-Booth grew up in Peoria County, Illinois. She went to Limestone High School in Bartonville. After high school, she continued her education. She studied at Parkland College. Later, she earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Helping Her Community
Before becoming a state representative, Jehan Gordon-Booth worked to help people in different ways. She worked at the Small Business Development Center at Bradley University. There, she helped people who wanted to start or grow their own businesses.
She also worked at Illinois Central College. She helped students stay in college and succeed. She led a program called Peoria’s Promise. This program helped students apply for scholarships to attend Illinois Central College. Scholarships are like money gifts that help pay for school.
