Jehyve Floyd (born June 27, 1997) is an American professional basketball player. He plays as a center for the Ibaraki Robots in Japan's B.League. Floyd played college basketball for the Holy Cross Crusaders. He was named the best defensive player in the Patriot League in both 2018 and 2019. He also led the league in blocked shots and shooting percentage. Later, he led the Greek Basket League in blocks in 2020 and the Israeli Basketball Premier League in blocks in 2021.

Jehyve Floyd's Basketball Journey

High School Days

Jehyve Floyd grew up in Parlin, New Jersey. He started his high school basketball career at Sayreville War Memorial High School. His coach was John Wojcik. As a junior, he scored about 10.5 points and grabbed 4.6 rebounds per game.

In his senior year, he improved a lot. He averaged 17.5 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game. He was named Sayreville's Breakout Player of the Year in 2014. He also earned first team All-Conference honors and was the team captain.

College Basketball Career

After high school, Floyd decided to play for Holy Cross. He played under coach Bill Carmody. During his time there, he became known as one of the best defensive players. He was chosen for the All-Defensive team twice.

He also won the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year award two times. He earned this award in both 2018 and 2019.

Becoming a Defensive Star

As a junior in the 2017-18 season, Floyd was a key player. He averaged 12.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. He also had 2.2 blocked shots per game, which was the most in the Patriot League. He was very accurate with his shots, making 66.8% of them. This was the best in his league and fourth best in NCAA Division I.

In his senior year (2018-19), he continued to shine. He averaged 12.9 points and 6.1 rebounds. He also had 3.5 assists and 2.4 blocked shots per game, again leading the league. His shooting percentage was even better at 66.9%. This ranked him third in NCAA Division I.

Jehyve Floyd holds a record in the Patriot League. He has the best career field goal percentage at 65.6%. He also finished second all-time at Holy Cross in blocked shots with 193 blocks.

Professional Basketball

After college, Jehyve Floyd started his professional career in 2019. He first joined MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg in Germany. However, he left the team before playing any games for them.

Playing in Greece

On September 13, 2019, Floyd joined Larisa in the Greek Basket League. He played 20 games for them. He averaged 5.1 points and 5 rebounds. He also led the league in blocks with 2.2 blocks per game.

In July 2020, he signed with Promitheas Patras, another Greek team. He played only one game for them.

Time in Israel

Later in 2020, Floyd moved to Israel. He signed with Hapoel Gilboa Galil in October. He had a great season there. He averaged 11.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.

He led the Israeli league in total blocks with 62. He was also second in blocks per game (1.7). He was very efficient, leading the league in two-point shot percentage (74.2%).

Moving to Turkey

In July 2021, Floyd returned to Greece to play for Panathinaikos. This team plays in the EuroLeague, a top European competition.

In December 2021, he moved to Turkey. He joined Fenerbahçe for the rest of the season. He helped them win the Turkish League championship in 2022.

On June 24, 2022, he signed with Galatasaray Nef, another Turkish team. His contract with Galatasaray ended in March 2023.

Back to Israel and Japan

In February 2024, Floyd signed with Yukatel Merkezefendi in Turkey. He played 10 games, averaging 8.5 points and 5.9 rebounds. He was fifth in the league for blocks per game.

In May 2024, he went back to Israel to play for Bnei Herzliya. Then, in August 2024, he signed with Nagasaki Velca in Japan. His contract with Nagasaki ended in November 2024.

Soon after, on November 8, 2024, Jehyve Floyd signed with the Ibaraki Robots in Japan, where he plays now.
