Jeison Fabián Murillo Cerón (born on May 27, 1992) is a professional football player from Colombia. He plays as a central defender for the Qatari club Al-Shamal.

Playing for Clubs
Starting Out in Spain
Jeison Murillo was born in Cali, Colombia. When he was 18, he moved to Italy to join the club Udinese Calcio. Soon after, he was loaned to Granada CF in Spain. This was part of a special agreement between the two clubs. For his first year in Spain, he played for Granada's reserve team.
In 2012, Granada bought Murillo permanently. He then spent some time playing on loan for other Spanish clubs, Cádiz CF and UD Las Palmas. He scored four goals in his first year as a professional player. This included two goals in one game against UD Almería in March 2013. He tried to help both teams get promoted to a higher league, but they were not successful.
Murillo returned to Granada in 2013. He made his first appearance in La Liga, Spain's top football league, on August 18, 2013. He scored his first goal in La Liga in January 2014.
Playing for Inter Milan
In February 2015, Murillo signed a five-year contract with Inter Milan, a famous club in Italy. He officially joined them in July of that year. He made his first appearance in Serie A, Italy's top league, on August 23, playing the whole game.
Time at Valencia and Barcelona
On August 18, 2017, Murillo went back to Spain to play for Valencia CF. He joined them on a two-year loan deal. He played 17 matches in his first season with Valencia. His team finished fourth, which meant they qualified for the UEFA Champions League.
In December 2018, Murillo joined FC Barcelona on a loan deal. This loan lasted until the end of the season. He played his first game for Barcelona in January 2019 in a Copa del Rey match. He also started in the second game of that cup round.
Moving to Sampdoria and Celta
In July 2019, Murillo signed with UC Sampdoria in Italy. He joined them on an initial loan. In January 2020, Sampdoria bought him permanently. They then loaned him to RC Celta de Vigo in Spain.
Murillo agreed to play for Celta on loan again in September 2020. He also had another loan spell with Celta in August 2021.
Recent Career
On July 28, 2023, Murillo signed a two-year contract with Al-Shamal SC. This club plays in the Qatar Stars League in Qatar.
Playing for Colombia
Jeison Murillo made his first appearance for the Colombian national team on October 10, 2014. This was in a friendly game against El Salvador.
He was chosen to be part of the squad for the 2015 Copa América tournament. He scored the only goal in a group stage game against Brazil. In the quarter-final match against Argentina, he played very well. Even though Colombia lost in a penalty shootout, Murillo was named the "Best Young Player" of the tournament.
