Jem Irene Cassar-Daley (born 14 February 2001) is an Australian singer and songwriter. She creates indie-pop music. Jem is the daughter of famous country music singer Troy Cassar-Daley and TV presenter Laurel Edwards. She is also a proud Gumbaynggirr Bundjalung woman, with Maltese and European Australian heritage.

Jem's Early Life and Music Journey
Jem Cassar-Daley was born on 14 February 2001. Her parents are both well-known in the entertainment world. Her mother, Laurel Edwards, is a TV and radio presenter and singer. Her father, Troy Cassar-Daley, is a popular country music singer. Jem grew up surrounded by music. She shared that The Sound of White by Missy Higgins was the first album she ever bought. She still loves Missy Higgins' music.
Musical Inspirations
When Jem was younger, she looked up to artists like Gwen Stefani, Beyoncé, and Fergie. She was also a big fan of the band One Direction. Other musicians who influenced her style include Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, and Missy Higgins. After finishing high school in 2018, Jem went on her first music tour. She performed about 70 shows with her father that year.

Starting Out: I Don't Know Who to Call
Jem Cassar-Daley released her very first song, "Letting Go," in July 2021. Her first collection of songs, called an extended play (EP), came out in May 2022. It was titled I Don't Know Who to Call and had seven tracks. This EP included her earlier songs like "Letting Go," "Changes," "Like it More," and "Oh No." In September 2022, Jem released a short film about the EP. This film explained how she created the songs. She worked with other artists like James Angus and Tia Gostelow on this project.
Live Performances and Collaborations
In 2022, Jem performed with her father at the Queensland Music Awards. They sang "Brisbane Blacks," a song by the band Mop and The Dropouts. This performance honored the band for receiving a special Lifetime Achievement Award. In November 2024, Jem joined the band King Stingray for a special performance. They covered the song "Oysters in My Pocket" by Royel Otis for Triple j's Like a Version series. This cover song was later released for streaming in December 2024.
