Jem Irene Cassar-Daley (born on 14 February 2001) is an Australian indie pop singer and songwriter. She is the daughter of famous country music singer Troy Cassar-Daley and TV presenter Laurel Edwards. Jem is proud of her heritage, being a Maltese, European Australian, and a Gumbaynggirr Bundjalung woman.

About Jem's Early Life
Jem Cassar-Daley was born on 14 February 2001. Her parents are Laurel Edwards, who works in TV and radio, and Troy Cassar-Daley, a well-known country music singer. Jem is a Gumbaynggirr Bundjalung woman.
She shared that music was a big part of her life even before she was born. Jem also said that The Sound of White by Missy Higgins was the very first album she ever bought. She still loves Missy Higgins' music today!
When Jem was younger, she looked up to artists like Gwen Stefani, Beyoncé, and Fergie. She was also a big fan of the band One Direction. Other musicians who have inspired her include Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, and Missy Higgins.
After finishing high school in 2018, Jem went on her first music tour. She joined her father, Troy Cassar-Daley, and they performed about 70 shows together in one year.
Jem's Music Career
Starting Her Music Journey (2021-Present)
Jem Cassar-Daley released her first song, "Letting Go," in July 2021. In May 2022, she released her first collection of songs, called an extended play (EP), titled I Don't Know Who to Call. This EP has seven tracks, including her earlier songs "Letting Go," "Changes," "Like it More," and "Oh No."
Later in September 2022, Jem released a short film (mini-documentary) with the same name as her EP. This film helped explain how the songs on the EP were created. She worked with other artists like James Angus and Tia Gostelow on this project.
In 2022, Jem joined her father on stage at the Queensland Music Awards. They performed a song called "Brisbane Blacks" by the band Mop and The Dropouts. They did this to celebrate the band receiving a special Lifetime Achievement Award.
In November 2024, Jem Cassar-Daley teamed up with the band King Stingray. They performed a cover of the song "Oysters in My Pocket" for a special music series. This song was then released in December 2024.
