Jemalle Cornelius was born in Fort Meade, Florida. He went to Fort Meade High School. There, he played football for the school team, the Fort Meade Miners.
College Football Career
Cornelius received a sports scholarship to attend the University of Florida. This university is located in Gainesville, Florida. He played as a wide receiver and was great on special teams for the Florida Gators football team. He played from 2002 to 2006. His coaches were Ron Zook and Urban Meyer.
Becoming a Champion
In his final year, 2006, Cornelius became a starting wide receiver. He was also a team captain. His team, the Gators, won the BCS National Championship that year. This was a huge achievement for him and his team.
Professional Football Career
After college, Cornelius signed a contract with the Arizona Cardinals. This happened on December 31, 2007. He was an undrafted free agent, meaning he wasn't chosen in the main NFL draft.
Coaching Career
Today, Jemalle Cornelius is the head coach at his old high school. This is Fort Meade High School. When he was a student there, he was a star quarterback and wide receiver. His team, the Miners, reached the state runner-up position in 1999, 2000, and 2001.
