Jemeni's Career in Media

Jemeni studied Radio and Television Arts at Ryerson University. This helped her learn about working in media. She is known for her hip-hop poetry.

Early Broadcasting Work

Jemeni used to be a host on Flow 93.5 FM, a radio station. She also volunteered at the campus radio station CKLN-FM. Her early work helped her gain experience. She even worked as a music critic on Much Music. This meant she shared her opinions on new songs and artists.

In January 2022, Jemeni joined Toronto radio station CFPT-FM. She became a co-host of their morning show. She worked alongside Mark Strong. Before this, she had left CKFG-FM three months earlier. As of 2024, Jemeni hosts a national radio show called Marvin's Room. This show focuses on R&B music and is on CBC Music.

Awards and Achievements

Jemeni has won several important awards for her work. These include the Caribbean Women of Excellence Award. She also received the Warning Award and the Tara Award. In addition, she won a Canadian Urban Music award.

In February 2008, Jemeni took part in a special book competition. It was called Canada Reads and was run by the CBC. Jemeni defended the novel Brown Girl in the Ring by Nalo Hopkinson. This competition helps people discover new books.
