Jenny Jones (born on July 3, 1980) is a famous British professional snowboarder. She made history by becoming the first person from Britain to win an Olympic medal in a snow sport. She won a bronze medal in the Slopestyle event at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Early Life and First Steps

Jenny Jones was born in Bristol, England. When she was in school, she enjoyed many sports like running, long jump, and gymnastics. At 17, she learned to ski for free at a dry ski slope. This was her first step into the world of snow sports!

Snowboarding Career

After finishing college, Jenny worked in France during the winter. She spent her winters snowboarding and her summers surfing in England. She took on different part-time jobs to pay for her passion.

X Games Success

Jenny became very successful in snowboarding competitions. She won gold medals at the X Games USA in 2009 and 2010. She also won gold at the X Games Europe in 2010. These wins showed she was one of the best snowboarders in the world.

Olympic Medal

In August 2013, Jenny won a silver medal in a FIS Snowboard World Cup event in New Zealand. This was a great start to the 2013–14 season.

On February 9, 2014, Jenny competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. She won a bronze medal in the women's slopestyle event. This was a huge achievement for her and for British snow sports!

After Competition

In 2014, Jenny was given the Pery Medal for her amazing achievements. This award recognized her contributions to British Snowsports.

After retiring from competitive snowboarding, Jenny started working in media. In October 2014, she began hosting a radio show called Jenny Jones' Extreme on BBC Radio 5 Live. This show featured different extreme sports. In December 2014, she became a coach on the TV show The Jump.

As of 2025, Jenny no longer competes professionally. She works as a presenter for BBC's Ski Sunday. She also teaches snowboarding workshops. She helped cover the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing for the BBC.
