Early Life and Music
Jeremy Davis was born on February 8, 1985. When he was 17, he lived in Franklin, Tennessee. He played bass guitar in a band called The Factory. This band played funk music. There, he met Hayley Williams. Through Hayley, Jeremy met brothers Josh Farro and Zac Farro. They soon decided to form a new band together. Jeremy was a bit worried at first because Zac was only 14. But he knew Zac was a very talented drummer.
Being Part of Paramore
How Paramore Started
The band Paramore officially began in Franklin, Tennessee, in 2004. The Farro brothers, Josh and Zac, were key members. Josh played lead guitar and sang backup. Zac was the drummer. Taylor York was also involved from the start. However, his parents wanted him to finish school first. He later rejoined the band in 2007.
The band then asked Hayley Williams to be their lead singer. She also played keyboards. Through Hayley, Jeremy Davis joined as the bass player. The other band members were a bit unsure about having a female singer at first. But they were all good friends. Hayley started writing songs with them, and she became a full member.
Albums and Success
In 2005, a record label called Fueled by Ramen signed Paramore. The band released their first album, All We Know Is Falling, without Jeremy. He had left for a short time and was replaced by John Hembree. But Jeremy rejoined the band soon after.
He was part of their second album, Riot!. Jeremy also played bass on their live albums, The Final Riot! and Live in the UK. Their third album, Brand New Eyes, came out in 2009. The band's fourth album, simply called Paramore, was released in 2013. In 2014, Jeremy was nominated for Best Bassist at the Alternative Press Music Awards. This showed how much his playing was appreciated.
Leaving the Band
On December 14, 2015, it was announced that Jeremy Davis would no longer be in Paramore. The band continued as a duo with Hayley Williams and Taylor York. Later, Jeremy had some disagreements with Hayley and Taylor. These were about the business side of the band. They worked to sort out these differences.
Other Music Projects
Jeremy Davis has also worked on music outside of Paramore. In 2015, he helped produce and played bass on the song "Violet Vibrato" by B.o.B.. In October 2020, Jeremy started his own record label.
