Jeremy Neil Kyle (born 7 July 1965) is an English TV and radio presenter, and a writer. He is well-known for hosting The Jeremy Kyle Show on ITV. This show ran from 2005 to 2019. He also hosted an American version of his show. It was on air for two seasons starting in 2011. Since 2022, Kyle has been a presenter for Talk.

Early Life and Education

Jeremy Kyle was born in Reading, Berkshire, England. His family has roots in Scotland. His father worked as an accountant. He was also a personal secretary to the Queen Mother for 40 years.

Kyle went to Reading Blue Coat School. This is a private school for boys in Sonning, Berkshire. His first job was at Marks & Spencer. He later studied History and Sociology at the University of Surrey in Guildford.

Jeremy Kyle started his career in sales. From 1986 to 1995, he worked in different sales roles. After that, he became a radio presenter.

Radio Career Highlights

Kyle worked at several radio stations. These included Orchard FM and Leicester Sound. In 1996, he joined Invicta FM in Kent. He then moved to BRMB in Birmingham in 1997. There, he hosted shows like Late & Live.

In 2000, Kyle joined the Century FM network. His show was called Jezza's Confessions. It was broadcast late at night. He won a Sony Award in 2001 for his radio work. In 2002, he started presenting Jezza's Virgin Confessions on Virgin Radio. He left Virgin Radio in 2004.

Cancellation of The Jeremy Kyle Show

In May 2019, The Jeremy Kyle Show was stopped. This happened after a guest passed away shortly after appearing on an episode. ITV decided to end the show permanently on 15 May 2019. A court case later looked into the death of a guest who had been on the show. The coroner ruled that there was no direct link between the show and the guest's death.

After the show's cancellation, Kyle began working on new projects. In September 2021, he started presenting a show on TalkRadio. In April 2022, he announced his return to television. He now presents a primetime show for TalkTV.

Jeremy Kyle's Personal Life

In his book I'm Only Being Honest, published in 2009, Kyle shared that he has obsessive–compulsive disorder.

Kyle's first marriage was to Kirsty Rowley in 1989. This marriage was short. He later faced financial difficulties due to gambling. He married Carla Germaine in 2002. They had three children together. They separated in 2015 and divorced in 2016. Kyle also has a daughter from his first marriage.

In late 2012, Kyle was diagnosed with a type of cancer. He received treatment and recovered.

In February 2018, Kyle announced his engagement to Vicky Burton. She used to be his children's nanny. They got married in October 2021 in Windsor, Berkshire. They live there and have two children together.

In 2021, Kyle shared that he experienced anxiety. This happened after The Jeremy Kyle Show was cancelled. Kyle is a big fan of the football team West Ham United.
