Jericho is an exciting American TV show about what happens after a big disaster. It's a drama with lots of action and takes place after a major event. The story is about the people living in a made-up town called Jericho, Kansas. They have to figure out how to survive after nuclear attacks hit many big cities across the United States.

The show was made by CBS Paramount Network Television and Junction Entertainment. Important people behind the scenes included Jon Turteltaub, Stephen Chbosky, and Carol Barbee. Jericho was popular and was shown in more than 30 countries around the world.

Show's Journey

Jericho first aired on CBS on September 20, 2006. It ran until March 25, 2008. The show was first canceled after its first full season because not enough people were watching it.

Fans Bring It Back

Fans of Jericho really loved the show. They started a big campaign to convince the network to bring it back. Their efforts worked! The show returned for a second season, which had seven episodes. However, after this short second season, the show was canceled again.

In November 2008, The CW network aired repeats of Jericho. This helped more people discover the series. In 2007, TV Guide magazine even named Jericho one of the "Top Cult Shows Ever." This means it had a very dedicated group of fans.

Beyond Television

Even after the TV show ended, the story of Jericho continued. There were plans to make a movie based on the series, but this idea was later canceled.

Instead, the story continued in comic books. IDW Publishing released new comic book series that acted as "Season 3" in 2009. They also released a "Season 4" comic book series in August 2012. This allowed fans to find out what happened next to the characters.

DVD Availability

You can watch Jericho by getting the DVD sets. CBS DVD and Paramount Home Entertainment have released both seasons on DVD in different parts of the world.

On June 5, 2018, a complete series DVD set was re-released. This means you can get all the episodes in one collection.
