Jermaine Edward Guice, born on September 2, 1972, is a former professional basketball player from America. He played basketball in high school at Westerville South High School in Ohio. Later, he played college basketball for the Butler Bulldogs for four years. He was the top scorer for his team for two years in a row. After college, he started his professional career in the Continental Basketball Association. He played in countries like Portugal and Israel, and also in smaller leagues in the United States. Later, Guice moved to France. There, he was chosen as an All-Star three times. He was named the most valuable player (MVP) in 2005 and helped his team win the league championship in 2006.

High School Basketball
Jermaine Guice was born in Columbus, Ohio. He went to Westerville South High School in Westerville. He was a great athlete who played many sports. He was on the basketball, soccer, and track teams. In soccer, he played as a defender.
In his last year of high school, he was honored in all three sports. For basketball, he scored about 19.1 points per game. He also had 7.6 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.1 steals per game. He was chosen as a first-team all-state player. He was also named District III Player of the Year.
College Basketball Career
Jermaine Guice was noticed by Butler University when he was in his junior year of high school. The head coach, Barry Collier, and assistant coach, Jay John, watched him play. Guice decided to play for Butler in November 1989. He chose Butler over other schools like Yale and St. Peter's.
Freshman Year at Butler
In his first year, Guice was a "sixth man" for the team. This means he was often the first player to come off the bench. He scored about 10.3 points per game. He also had 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. He was the fifth-best scorer and rebounder on the team. At the end of the season, he was named to the MCC All-Newcomer team.
Sophomore Year at Butler

Professional Basketball Career
After college, Jermaine Guice was able to join the 1994 NBA draft. However, no NBA team chose him. In July 1994, he joined the Indiana Pacers for a tryout camp. He practiced with the team but did not make the final roster.
Early Career in the US and Europe
Guice then joined the Pittsburgh Piranhas, a team in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). He played 31 games with them. He averaged 5.5 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. Later that season, he moved to the Rapid City Thrillers. He played 17 games with them.
In 1995, Guice went to Europe and played for Atlético Clube de Portugal in Portugal. He scored 21.4 points per game there. After that, he came back to the United States. He played for the Connecticut Pride and then the Shreveport Storm in the CBA. He also had a short time with the Treasure Coast Tropics in 1996.
Playing in Israel
For the 1996–97 season, Guice moved to Israel. He joined Maccabi Kiryat Motzkin in the Liga Leumit. He played two seasons there. In 1997, he was named the league's MVP. In the 1997–98 season, he played in Israel's top league. He averaged 17.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists. In January 1999, he returned to the CBA with the La Crosse Bobcats. He averaged 8 points per game in 27 games.
In 1999, he played for Ironi Hadera in Israel's second league. In November 2000, he joined the Trenton Shooting Stars in the International Basketball Association. In 2001, he went back to Israel's top league. He played for Elitzur Kiryat Ata. He averaged 18 points per game in 18 games. He stayed with the team for the 2001–02 season, averaging 22.2 points in 25 games.
Success in France
In 2002, Guice moved to France. He signed with STB Le Havre in the Pro A league. In 30 games, he averaged 17.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists. He was also named to the All-Star team. He stayed for the next season and improved his scoring to 18 points per game. He also shot 40.5% from three-point range.
