You can find Jerome where Jerome Road (Union County Road 11) and Scioto Road (Union County Road 13) meet. This spot is about 2 miles east of another community called New California.
A Glimpse into Jerome's Past
How Jerome Got Its Name
Before it was known as Jerome, this community had a different name: Frankfort. It was first planned out and mapped in 1846. A few years later, on April 17, 1848, a post office opened in the area and was named Jerome. This post office served the community for many years.
Changes in Mail Service
The Jerome post office eventually closed its doors on December 15, 1905. After that, the mail service for Jerome began to be handled through the nearby town of Plain City. This means that even today, residents of Jerome get their mail from the Plain City branch.
