Early Life and Skateboarding Beginnings
Jeron Wilson grew up in the San Fernando Valley in California. When he was about nine years old, his cousin showed him how to skateboard. That's when Jeron's amazing journey in skateboarding began!
Jeron often skated with his friends, including Weston Correa and Ethan Fowler. They all rode for a local shop called Blue Alliance Skate Shop in Chatsworth, California. Even though it was a small shop, their team was well-known. They often did very well in the Powell Quarter Master tournaments. These exciting competitions were held at the Powell Peralta Skate Park in Goleta, California.
By the time Jeron was just 13, people in the valley already knew about his incredible skateboarding skills. He was especially famous for his amazing "pop," which means how high he could make his board jump. Jeron showed incredible control over his skateboard even when he was young. He was one of the first skaters to master a trick called the switch 360 flip. This cool trick became one of his signature moves throughout his career.
Becoming a Professional Skateboarder
As Jeron got older, he met another professional skateboarder named Salman Agah. Salman saw how talented Jeron was and helped him join the Real Skateboards team. Jeron's skills were also noticed by professional skateboarder Tim Gavin. Soon after, Jeron became part of the Blind Skateboards team.
The Blind Skateboards team was one of the best in skateboarding. It had many talented skaters, like Guy Mariano and Henry Sanchez. Jeron first appeared with the Blind team in a video from Plan B Skateboards. This video had a special "friends" section that showed off the Blind team. Later, Jeron was invited to skate for Girl Skateboards, another very respected team. With help from Tim Gavin, Jeron also got a sponsorship from DVS Shoes for his skateboarding shoes.
The Nine Club Podcast
Today, Jeron Wilson also hosts a popular skateboard podcast called The Nine Club. He hosts it with Chris Roberts and Kelly Hart. On the podcast, they talk about all sorts of things related to skateboarding.
