Jerry L. Baldwin is an American college football coach. He was the main football coach at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette from 1999 to 2001. During his time there, his team won 6 games and lost 27. Before that, he worked as an assistant coach at Louisiana Tech University from 1982 to 1991. He was also an assistant coach at Louisiana State University from 1992 to 1998.

Jerry Baldwin started his coaching journey as an assistant. He helped coach the football teams at Louisiana Tech and LSU for many years. These roles prepared him for a bigger challenge.

Leading the Ragin' Cajuns

In 1999, Jerry Baldwin became the head coach for the Louisiana–Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns team. He coached them for three seasons. After the 2001 season, he was no longer the coach there.

Later, in 2007, there was a legal case about his job. A jury first decided he should receive money, but this decision was later changed after an appeal.

Life After Coaching

Today, Jerry Baldwin lives in Ruston, Louisiana. He is a pastor at a church called New Living Word Ministries. He also works as the principal of the New Living Word school. On top of that, he coaches the football team at the school.
