College Basketball Years
Before turning professional, Jerry played college basketball. He started at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) from 1971 to 1972. Later, he played for Temple University from 1973 to 1974.
Joining the NBA
In 1974, Jerry Baskerville was chosen by the Boston Celtics in the 1974 NBA draft. This was a special "supplemental pick." He later played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Philadelphia 76ers. He was part of their team during the 1975–76 season, playing in 21 games.
Success in the EBA/CBA
Jerry spent most of his professional career in another league. This league was first called the Eastern Basketball Association (EBA). It later became the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). He played for several teams from 1974 to 1981.
