Early Life and Family
Jessica Rae Springsteen was born on December 30, 1991. She is the second child and only daughter of musicians Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa. She has an older brother named Evan James Springsteen, born in 1990. She also has a younger brother named Samuel Ryan Springsteen, born in 1994.
When Jessica and her brothers were young, their parents moved them from Los Angeles. They wanted to raise their family away from the constant attention of paparazzi, which are photographers who follow famous people. The family lived on a horse farm in Colts Neck Township, New Jersey. They also had homes in other places, like Los Angeles, Wellington, Florida, and Rumson, New Jersey.
Jessica went to school at the Rumson Country Day School and Ranney School in New Jersey. She later earned a college degree from Duke University in 2014. Besides her riding career, Jessica has also done some modeling. She became an equestrian ambassador for the fashion brand Gucci. In 2022, she also became a Rolex Testimonee, which means she represents the watch company.
Equestrian Career Highlights
Jessica Springsteen started riding horses when she was just four years old. The Springsteen family kept horses on their large farm in Colts Neck, New Jersey. She received her first pony when she was six. As a young rider, she won many competitions. These included the Washington International Pony Equitation Classic Final. When she was a teenager, she won the 2008 ASPCA Maclay National Championship. She also won the 2009 George H. Morris Excellence in Equitation Championship.
As an adult, Jessica continued to achieve great things. In 2011, she competed at the Royal Windsor Horse Show with her horse, Vordnado Van Den Hoendrik. In 2012, she became an alternate rider for the United States at the 2012 Summer Olympics. This meant she was ready to compete if another rider couldn't. That same year, she bought a famous horse named Vindicat W. This horse had won a team gold medal at the 2012 Olympics with British rider Peter Charles.
In 2014, Jessica won the American Gold Cup, a major show jumping event. In 2016, she won her first five-star Grand Prix competition with her horse Cynar VA.
