Jessica Warner-Judd (born 7 January 1995) is a talented English runner. She competes in both middle-distance and long-distance races. Jessica has won many medals, including gold at the 2019 Summer Universiade for the 5000 metres race. She also earned individual medals at the European Cross Country Championships.
Jessica won a bronze medal in the 800 metres at the 2011 World Youth Championships. The next year, she took home a silver medal in the same event at the 2012 World Junior Championships. She holds a British record for the 1500 metres in the Under-15 age group. Jessica has also been a national champion four times. She proudly represented Great Britain at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

Jessica's Running Journey
Jessica Judd was born in Rochford, England. She studied at Grays Convent High School and Castle View School. In July 2009, when she was under 15, Jessica broke a British record. She ran the 1500 metres in 4 minutes and 21.03 seconds.
In 2011, Jessica set two more national records. She ran the 3000 metres in 9:08.5 in April. In May, she ran the 1500 metres in 4:14.21. Later that year, at the IAAF World Youth Championships, she won a bronze medal. This was for the 800 metres race, which she finished in 2:03.43. She also won her third straight 1500 metres title at the English Schools Championships.
Junior Championships Success
In 2012, Jessica won a gold medal with the British junior women's team. This was at the 2012 European Cross Country Championships. She started her outdoor season by running the 800 metres in 2:01.09. At the British Olympic trials in June, she finished third.
In July 2012, Jessica won a silver medal at the IAAF World Junior Championships. She ran the 800 metres final in 2:00.96. This set a new UK record for her age group (17 years old). She also reached the 1500 metres final, finishing fifth. She improved her personal best time to 4:09.93, setting another UK age 17 record.
Breaking Two Minutes
On June 22, 2013, Jessica won the 800 metres at the 2013 European Team Championships. She then won at the Birmingham Grand Prix on June 30, 2013. For the first time, she ran the 800 metres in under two minutes, with a time of 1:59.86.
At the 2013 UK World Championship trials, she finished second. This earned her a spot at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics in Moscow. There, she ran 2:01.48 but did not move past the heats.
Commonwealth and European Races
In May 2014, Jessica started her season at the Prefontaine Classic. In June, she improved her 800 metres best time to 1:59.77 in Oslo. In August, she competed at the Athletics at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. She reached the 800 metres final, finishing fourth in 2:01.91.
Two weeks later, she competed at the 2014 European Athletics Championships in Zürich. She again reached the final, finishing seventh in 2:01.65.
New Personal Bests
In March 2017, Jessica won the British Inter Counties Ladies' Cross Country Championships. This helped her join the British team for the World Cross Country Championships in Kampala. On April 5, 2017, Jessica ran the 3000 metres in 8:52.16 in Watford. She became only the fourth British woman to run both the 800 metres in under two minutes and the 3000 metres in under nine minutes.
A month later, she improved her 1500 metres best time to 4:05.20. Later that year, she finished second in the 1500 metres at the 2017 British Athletics Championships. This qualified her for the 2017 World Athletics Championships. There, she reached the semi-final of the 1500 metres, setting a personal best in the heats.
Becoming a British Champion
In 2020, Jessica became the British champion in the 5000 metres. She won the event at the 2020 British Athletics Championships with a time of 15:37.52.
She won the title again in 2021. That year, she also qualified for her first Olympic Games. She competed in both the 5000 metres and 10,000 metres races. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Jessica did not qualify from the heats in the 5000 metres (15:09.47). She finished 17th in the 10,000 metres (31:56.80).
