Jetpack is a fun platform game that first came out in 1993. It was made by Adept Software in the United States. This game was first shared as shareware, meaning you could try it before buying. Later, it became freeware, which means you could play it for free!

In Jetpack, your main goal is to collect all the shiny green emeralds hidden around each level. You also need to avoid tricky obstacles and enemies. Once you've collected all the emeralds, a special door opens. You go through this door to move on to the next exciting level. You can play Jetpack by yourself or with friends. Up to eight players can take turns on the same computer in the multiplayer mode.

How to Play Jetpack

As you play, you get help from a cool jetpack! This jetpack lets you fly around the levels. You also have a "phase shifter." This special tool lets you move right through certain walls.

Game Environments and Obstacles

The game levels are often like mazes. They are made of different types of bricks. You will also see other things like vines, gold, ladders, and ice. There are also boxes, pillars, and conveyor belts.

But watch out! There are also many challenges. These include sharp jagged rocks and strong force fields. You might also find teleport pads that move you instantly. Some bricks are super strong and cannot be broken. To keep your jetpack flying, you need fuel. You can find fuel in single tanks, double tanks, or special fuel grids.

Make Your Own Levels

One of the coolest things about Jetpack is that it comes with a level editor. This means you can design and build your very own game levels! Many players have even shared their levels on the Adept Software website. The full game comes with 100 levels already made for you to play. The creators also made a hint book. It had pictures and tips for every single level.

Different Versions of Jetpack

Jetpack came out in a few different versions. One special version was made for Christmas. In this version, you played as Santa Claus! Instead of collecting emeralds, Santa would fly around leaving presents at Christmas trees. This Christmas game was very similar to the original. It just had different levels and some fun holiday-themed pictures. There was also a version of the game made just for younger children.

Jetpack's Legacy

Fans of Jetpack were excited when a sequel was announced. This new game, called Jetpack 2, was first talked about in early 2008. After many years of development, it was finally released in June 2017.
