Julia Melissa "Jia" Morado-de Guzman (born May 10, 1995) is a talented Filipino volleyball player. She is well-known for her amazing skills as a setter. Jia was once the captain of the Ateneo Lady Eagles volleyball team. Since 2015, Jia has been a regular member of the Philippines Women's National Volleyball Team.

Jia's Volleyball Journey
Jia started her volleyball career early. In 2012, she played in the Palarong Pambansa, a big sports event in the Philippines. She helped the NCR Team win the championship. She also won the "Best Setter" award at this event.
Playing for the Philippines
Jia was the setter for the Philippine team in two major events in 2015. These were the 2015 Asian Women's U23 Volleyball Championship and the 2015 Southeast Asian Games. She continued to be a key player for the national team.
College and Professional Career
Jia was the team captain for the Ateneo Lady Eagles during the UAAP Season 79. After this season, on May 6, 2017, Jia announced she would not return to the Ateneo Lady Eagles.
She then joined the Creamline Cool Smashers, a professional team. This was for the first Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference. She also worked as an assistant coach for the Ateneo Lady Eagles for a short time.
Winning Awards and Championships
Jia quickly started winning awards in her professional career. She was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the 2017 Battle of the Rivals. She also won the "Best Setter" award in the 2017 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference.
In 2018, the Creamline Cool Smashers won the championship of the 2018 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference. Jia was named "Best Setter" and the "Finals' Most Valuable Player" for this tournament. She continued her winning streak, helping Creamline win back-to-back championships. She also earned more "Best Setter" and "Finals' MVP" awards at the end of the 2018 PVL season.
Playing Overseas
On August 31, 2023, Jia made a big move. She signed a contract with the Denso Airybees team in Japan. This team plays in the Japan V.League Division 1. She became their "Asian import" player for the 2023-2024 season.
Jia is the first Filipina setter and the fifth Filipino player to play in the Japan V.League. In her first season, she helped Denso Airybees finish fifth in the 2023–24 Japan V.League Division 1 Women. They also won a championship in the 2023–24 Japan V.League Division 1 Women V.Cup.
In May 2024, Jia became the captain of the Philippines women's national volleyball team. She held this important role until September of the same year.
About Jia's Life
Jia Morado was born in Manila. Her parents are Ariel and Hedy Morado. She has three siblings: two older sisters and one younger brother.
All the girls in her family played volleyball at a high level. Her older sister, Jessica Katrina, also played for the Ateneo Women's Volleyball Team. Jessica was the one who encouraged Jia to play volleyball. Her other older sister, Jamie Marielle, played as a libero for the UST Golden Tigresses volleyball team. Her brother, Ariel Jr. "Bok," is also a setter for the Ateneo Blue Eagles men's volleyball team.
Jia became a very successful athlete while also being a full-time student. She studied at the Ateneo de Manila University and earned a degree in Psychology. She finished high school at the Colegio San Agustin – Makati.
Jia married Miguel de Guzman on November 11, 2021. They had been together for six years before getting married. Miguel is a businessman and used to play baseball for De La Salle Santiago Zobel School. Both Jia and Miguel went to Ateneo de Manila University.
