Jaime Ramon Misa Paredes (born August 30, 1951), known to everyone as Jim Paredes, is a famous Filipino musician, singer, and TV host. He is a member of the legendary musical group Apo Hiking Society, along with Danny Javier and Boboy Garovillo.
Paredes is considered a very important figure in Original Pilipino Music (OPM). He is the son of Ester Paredes Jimenez, who was an activist during the martial law period in the Philippines.

Musical Career and Famous Songs
Jim Paredes is famous for writing and performing many hit songs that Filipinos love. His group, the Apo Hiking Society, became one of the most popular bands in the country.
Some of his most well-known songs include When I Met You, Panalangin (Prayer), Batang-Bata Ka Pa (You're Still So Young), and Yakap sa Dilim (Embrace in the Dark). These songs are still popular today.
A Song for a Revolution
One of Paredes' most important songs is Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo (The Filipino's Offering to the World). This song became the anthem of the People Power Revolution in 1986. This was a peaceful event where millions of Filipinos gathered to call for change in the government.
The song was so powerful that its lyrics are carved on a wall of the EDSA Shrine, a church built to remember the revolution.
Work in Television and Film
Besides music, Jim Paredes has also been a familiar face on television and in movies.
Hosting and TV Shows
Paredes was a host for the popular Sunday variety shows Sa Linggo nAPO Sila and 'Sang Linggo nAPO Sila in the 1990s. He also hosted Tatak Pilipino, a show that celebrated Filipino culture.
Later, he became a judge on the singing contest Search for the Star in a Million and the headmaster of the Pinoy Dream Academy. He has also acted in several TV series, including:
