James Nash Siedow (born June 12, 1920 – died November 20, 2003) was an American actor. He was most famous for playing Drayton "The Cook" Sawyer in the movies The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.

Jim Siedow was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He first started acting in his high school drama class. Later, he moved to New York City to perform in plays.
Serving in the War and Starting a Family
During World War II, Jim Siedow served in the Army Air Forces. After the war, he moved to Chicago, Illinois. There, he began working in radio. In 1946, he met and married an actress named Ruth. They stayed married until his death and had three children together.
Moving to Houston and Community Theater
Soon after getting married, Jim and Ruth moved to Houston, Texas. Jim kept acting and even helped start one of Houston's first local community theaters. These are places where people from the community can act in plays. He also directed Houston's first show of a famous play called Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? by Edward Albee.
Jim Siedow's Movie Roles
In 1971, Jim Siedow appeared in his first movie, The Windsplitter. He played a character named Mr. Smith. His most well-known role came in 1974. He played Drayton Sawyer in the movie The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
He also appeared in other movies and TV shows. In 1977, he was Howard Ives in the TV movie Red Alert. He had a role in the 1980 movie Hotwire. Jim Siedow played Drayton Sawyer again in 1986. This was for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, which was a sequel to his earlier famous movie.

Jim Siedow passed away in Houston in 2003. He was 83 years old. He died from problems related to emphysema, a lung condition.
