Joane Somarriba Arrola, born on August 11, 1972, in Gernika, Spain, is a famous former Spanish cyclist. She was an amazing athlete who achieved many victories in her career.

Joane won the Grande Boucle race three times: in 2000, 2001, and 2003. This is a very important cycling event for women. She also won a gold medal in the time trial at the 2003 World Championships in Hamilton, Canada. A time trial is a race against the clock, where cyclists ride alone.

She also earned a silver medal in the time trial at the 2005 World Championships in Madrid. In 2002, she won a bronze medal in the road race at the World Championships in Belgium. Joane stopped her professional cycling career in 2005.
