What Was the Golden Gate Produce Terminal?

Carcione started his journey in the media in 1967. He made radio commercials for his produce business. A radio announcer named Dave McElhatton discovered his talent.

Soon, Carcione began hosting short segments on television and radio. In these segments, he shared helpful tips about buying and choosing fresh fruits and vegetables. He also wrote a newspaper column and two books about produce. His "Greengrocer" TV reports were filmed right at the Golden Gate Produce Terminal.
