College Football Career

He ran for 1,081 yards and scored five touchdowns. He also caught 21 passes for 215 yards. He led the ACC in carries again that season. In his senior year, 1984, Joe ran for 591 yards and scored four touchdowns.

Joe then signed with the San Francisco 49ers on January 9, 1986. But he was released by the 49ers on July 23, 1986.
Playing for the Atlanta Falcons
On September 23, 1987, Joe McIntosh signed with the Atlanta Falcons. This happened during a time when NFL players were on strike. He played in two games for the Falcons. In those games, he ran the ball five times for 11 yards. He also caught three passes for 15 yards and scored one touchdown. Additionally, he returned three kickoffs for a total of 108 yards.
