Early Music Days (2001-2006)
Joey Stylez started his music journey by opening for famous rappers. He performed for Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent in Saskatoon. This was a great start to his career.
Gaining Attention (2007-2008)
In 2007, Joey Stylez was featured on the front page of The StarPhoenix newspaper. He also appeared in XXL magazine. The CBC even listed him as one of the top 25 Canadian MCs ever. In 2008, his song and video called "Living Proof" became very popular. It reached number 4 on Much Music's Rap City countdown.

The Blackstar Album (2009)
His first studio album, The Blackstar, came out in November 2009. The album's name comes from his Kookum (grandmother in traditional Plains Cree). Her name was Christina (LaPlante) Blackstar. His Kookum was a traditional Plains Cree woman. She did not speak English and practiced many sacred ceremonies.
The Blackstar helped Joey Stylez win three Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards. He won Best Music Video for "Sugarcane" in 2009. In 2010, he won Best Pop Album and Songwriter of the Year. In 2011, the album was nominated for Aboriginal Album of the Year.
Feather and Rosary (2013)
This album included the song "Jaded Angel." This song reached number one on the Indigenous Music Countdown.
Red Makaveli (2016)
This album was well-liked by many. The song "See You in Hell" was featured in the Hollywood movie "Wind River".
#GREYMAGIC (2016)
This album won the award for Best Rap Album of 2017. It received this honor at the Indigenous Music Awards.
