Joffrey's Basketball Journey
Joffrey Lauvergne has played for many teams around the world. He started his career in France and later played in Spain, Serbia, Russia, and the NBA in the United States.
Early Years with Élan Chalon (2009–2012)
Joffrey spent two years at INSEP, a special sports school in Paris. In 2009, he joined Élan Chalon, a team in France. With them, he won the French League in 2012. He also helped the team win two French Cups in 2011 and 2012. They also won the Leaders Cup in 2012. He averaged about 5.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. He left the team in November 2012.
Short Time with Valencia (2012)
In November 2012, Joffrey signed a short deal with Valencia in Spain. He played five games for them. In those games, he averaged 5.8 points and 3.8 rebounds.
Becoming a Star at Partizan (2012–2014)
In December 2012, Joffrey joined Partizan Belgrade in Serbia. He quickly became a key player. In the 2013 NBA draft, the Memphis Grizzlies picked him. They chose him as the 55th player overall. His rights were then traded to the Denver Nuggets. It was decided he would stay in Europe for a while.
In 2013, Joffrey decided to stay with Partizan for another season. He became one of the best rebounders in the EuroLeague. He averaged 9.3 rebounds in 10 games. The Denver Nuggets were impressed by his progress. When the team captain got injured, Joffrey became the new captain. He was the first non-Serbian captain in the team's history. Oklahoma City Thunder (2016–2017)
In August 2016, Joffrey was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He scored a season-high 16 points in a game against the Memphis Grizzlies in February 2017.
Chicago Bulls (2017)
In February 2017, Joffrey was traded again. He moved to the Chicago Bulls as part of a trade deal.
San Antonio Spurs (2017–2018)
In July 2017, Joffrey signed with the San Antonio Spurs. In February 2018, he scored a new career-high of 26 points. He also had 11 rebounds in that game.
Back to Europe: Fenerbahçe (2018–2020)
In July 2018, Joffrey signed a two-year deal with Fenerbahçe, a Turkish team. He scored 12 points in his first EuroLeague game with them. He averaged 8.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in the EuroLeague during the 2018–2019 season.
Žalgiris Kaunas (2020–2022)
In July 2020, Joffrey joined Žalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania. He signed an extension deal with them in January 2021. In October 2021, he had a shoulder injury. This kept him from playing for most of the 2021–2022 season.
ASVEL (2022–2025)
On June 30, 2022, Joffrey signed with ASVEL, a French team. He played for them until 2025.
