Joffrey Lauvergne (born 30 September 1991) is a French professional basketball player. He plays for LDLC ASVEL in France's top league, LNB Élite, and in the EuroLeague. He was picked 55th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2013 NBA draft. His rights were then traded to the Denver Nuggets.

Joffrey's Basketball Journey

Starting in France: Élan Chalon (2009–2012)

Joffrey Lauvergne started his professional career in 2009 with Élan Chalon in France. Before that, he spent two years at INSEP, a famous sports school in Paris.

With Élan Chalon, he helped his team win several important titles. They won the French League in 2012. They also won the French Cup twice, in 2011 and 2012. Plus, they won the Leaders Cup in 2012. During his time there, Lauvergne averaged about 5.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game in the French League. He left the team in November 2012.

Short Stop in Spain: Valencia (2012)

After leaving Élan Chalon, Lauvergne signed a short contract with ACB club Valencia in Spain. He played five games for them, averaging 5.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.

Becoming a Star in Serbia: Partizan (2012–2014)

In December 2012, Lauvergne joined Partizan Belgrade in Serbia. He quickly became a key player. In the 2013 NBA draft, he was picked by the Memphis Grizzlies. However, his rights were soon traded to the Denver Nuggets. It was decided he would stay and play overseas for a while before joining the NBA.

In 2013, Lauvergne decided to stay with Partizan for another season. This was even though the club was facing money problems. He improved a lot in his second EuroLeague season. He became one of the best rebounders in the league. He averaged 9.3 rebounds in 10 regular season games. The Denver Nuggets noticed his progress.

When the team captain got injured, Lauvergne was chosen as the new captain. This was a big deal because he was the first non-Serbian player to be captain of Partizan. In 24 EuroLeague games, he averaged 11.1 points and led the league with 8.6 rebounds per game. He was also chosen for the Ideal Team of the 2013–14 ABA League season. Partizan won their 13th straight Serbian League title that season.

Lauvergne wrote a heartfelt letter when he left Partizan. He thanked his teammates, coaches, and fans. He said he felt like part of a family there.

Playing in Russia: Khimki (2014–2015)

In June 2014, Lauvergne signed a two-year deal with the Russian club Khimki. Partizan also received money for his transfer. He played for Khimki until February 2015. During his time there, he averaged 9.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.

Joining the NBA: Denver Nuggets (2015–2016)

In February 2015, Lauvergne signed a two-year deal with the Denver Nuggets. He made his NBA debut a few days later, scoring 8 points and grabbing 3 rebounds. In February 2016, he scored a career-high 22 points in a game against the Sacramento Kings.

Žalgiris Kaunas (2020–2022)

In July 2020, Lauvergne joined Žalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania. He signed an extension deal with them in January 2021. In October 2021, he got a shoulder injury that kept him out for most of the 2021–2022 season.
