John Edward Ahern (born December 4, 1934 – died December 19, 2020) was an American politician. He was a member of the Republican Party. Ahern served in the Washington House of Representatives. He represented the 6th district for several terms. He was a representative from 2001 to 2009 and again from 2011 to 2013.
Early Life and Education
John Ahern was born in Havre, Montana. His family later lived in Silver Spring, Maryland. He studied at the University of Maryland. He also attended the University of Denver. Ahern earned a law degree from Gonzaga University. He was a Catholic. He also served in the United States Army Reserves.
Political Career
Before becoming a politician, John Ahern worked in business. He was involved with office products and supplies. This business was located in Spokane, Washington.
Ahern then decided to serve his community. He became a Republican politician. He was elected to the Washington House of Representatives. He represented the 6th district. He served two separate periods. His first time was from 2001 to 2009. His second time was from 2011 to 2013.
