A John Daly is a popular mixed drink for grown-ups. It is made from lemonade, iced tea, and a type of spirit called vodka. This drink is named after a famous American professional golfer, John Daly.

You can also make a John Daly using lemonade and a special kind of sweet tea vodka. The drink is like an adult version of the Arnold Palmer. The Arnold Palmer is another drink named after a different American golfer.

The Story Behind the Drink's Name

The John Daly drink first became popular at the Whiskey Creek Golf Course in Fort Myers, Florida. This happened in 2005. A bartender named Daton Lewis helped make it famous during a golf tournament.

John Daly, the golfer, felt that using his name for the drink without his permission was not right. This is called trademark infringement. To fix this, Daly started his own company in 2010. He created the GIASI Beverage Company with two of his friends. John Daly owns most of this company.

The name GIASI stands for "Grip It And Sip It." This is a fun play on words from John Daly's famous golf saying, "Grip it and Rip it."

Official John Daly Drinks

The official Original John Daly Cocktail was first sold in 2013. It was bottled by Frank-Lin Distillers in California. At first, you could find it in California and Nevada. Now, it is sold in 13 different states. These states include Arkansas, which is John Daly's home state, along with Texas and Illinois.

The GIASI company offers three different flavors of their ready-to-drink cocktail. These flavors are sweet tea with lemonade, peach tea with lemonade, and raspberry tea with lemonade.
