John Peter Grant, 13th Earl of Dysart (born 22 October 1946), also known as Johnnie Grant, is a Scottish nobleman and a person who owns a lot of land. He holds important titles and helps manage a large estate in Scotland.

About John Peter Grant
John Peter Grant is the son of Lieutenant Colonel John Peter Grant and Lady Katherine Greaves. His mother later became the 12th Countess of Dysart.
Early Life and Responsibilities
In 1986, John Peter Grant was chosen as a deputy lieutenant for Inverness-shire. This is a special role where he helps the King's representative in the area. In 1987, he took over the management of Rothiemurchus from his father. Rothiemurchus is a large area of land in the Cairngorms in Scotland.
He has worked with many groups since 1975. These groups focus on managing land, protecting nature, and helping communities. From 1996 to 2006, he was the President of the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland. This society helps care for animals and promotes wildlife conservation.
Inheriting Titles
In 2003, his mother, Lady Katherine, became the Countess of Dysart. She inherited this title from her older sister. When his mother passed away in 2011, John Peter Grant became the 13th Earl of Dysart. He inherited her noble titles.
Managing Rothiemurchus Estate
Today, the Earl of Dysart and his son, James, are in charge of Rothiemurchus. This large estate is located in the Scottish Highlands. It includes part of the famous Rothiemurchus Forest. It also has Braeriach, which is a very tall mountain. Braeriach is 4,252 feet (1,296 meters) high. It is the third highest mountain in Britain.
Family Life
In 1971, John Peter Grant married Philippa Chance. She was awarded an MBE, which is a special honor for her work. Philippa was born on August 16, 1949. She passed away on September 16, 2022.

Philippa Chance's Contributions
Philippa Chance was very involved in helping communities in the North of Scotland. She worked especially on projects that helped rural areas grow. She was also a founder and director of a company called Moray, Badenoch and Strathspey Enterprise Co. Ltd. This company helped local businesses and communities.
Philippa also had a strong connection to NHS Scotland, which provides healthcare. A character named Molly in the BBC TV show Monarch of the Glen was inspired by the Countess.
