John Peter Grant, 13th Earl of Dysart (born 22 October 1946), also known as Johnnie Grant, is a Scottish nobleman and landowner. He holds important titles and helps manage a large estate in Scotland.

About John Peter Grant

John Peter Grant is the son of Lieutenant Colonel John Peter Grant and Lady Katherine Greaves. His mother later became the 12th Countess of Dysart.

His Role in Scotland

In 1986, John Peter Grant became a deputy lieutenant of Inverness-shire. This is an important role that helps support the Lord-Lieutenant, who represents the King in the area.

In 1987, he took over the management of Rothiemurchus from his father. Rothiemurchus is a large estate located in the Cairngorms area of Scotland.

Work in Conservation and Land Management

Since 1975, John Peter Grant has been involved with many groups that focus on land management and nature conservation. He cares deeply about protecting Scotland's natural beauty.

From 1996 to 2006, he was the President of the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland. This society helps run zoos and works to protect animals.

Becoming the Earl of Dysart

In 2003, his mother, Lady Katherine, became the Countess of Dysart. When she passed away in 2011, John Peter Grant inherited her titles. He became the 13th Earl of Dysart.

Managing Rothiemurchus Estate

Today, the 13th Earl of Dysart works with his son, James, to manage the Rothiemurchus estate. This estate is in the Scottish Highlands.

Philippa Chance was born on August 16, 1949. She was known for her dedication to public service.

She received an MBE award for her work with NHS Scotland, which provides healthcare. She was also very involved in helping rural communities in Northern Scotland. She helped start and lead the Moray, Badenoch and Strathspey Enterprise Co. Ltd.

Philippa Chance passed away in 2022.
