Johnny Lee O'Bryant III (born June 1, 1993) is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for the Sagesse SC team in the Lebanese Basketball League. Before becoming a pro, he played college basketball at Louisiana State University.

Johnny O'Bryant's Early Basketball Days
High School Achievements
Johnny O'Bryant was a highly-rated basketball player in high school. Experts at ESPN.com thought he was one of the best. In 2011, he was ranked as the 7th best power forward in the entire country. He was also the 46th best player overall.
College Career at LSU
O'Bryant played college basketball for three years at Louisiana State University. During his time there, he achieved a special milestone. He became one of only 14 LSU players to score over 1,000 points and grab over 700 rebounds. This shows how good he was at both scoring and getting the ball back. He was also chosen twice for the First-team All-SEC. This means he was one of the best players in his college league.
On April 1, 2014, Johnny decided to enter the NBA draft. This meant he would skip his final year of college to become a professional player.
Johnny O'Bryant's Professional Basketball Journey
Starting with the Milwaukee Bucks (2014–2016)
On June 26, 2014, the Milwaukee Bucks picked O'Bryant in the 2014 NBA draft. He was the 36th player chosen overall. He officially signed with the Bucks on July 30, 2014. Before signing, he played well in five Summer League games.
He faced an injury early in his first season. On October 9, he hurt his right knee. This kept him from playing in the first 25 games. He finally made his NBA debut on December 17. On December 26, he scored his season-high of 12 points. This helped the Bucks win against the Atlanta Hawks.
In his second season, on November 11, 2015, he had a strong game. He scored 11 points and got 9 rebounds against the Denver Nuggets. The Bucks later decided to let him go on June 29, 2016.
Playing in the NBA Development League (2016–2017)
After leaving the Bucks, O'Bryant joined the Northern Arizona Suns. This team was part of the NBA Development League, now called the G-League. He played his first game for them on November 12, 2016. He had a great start, scoring 18 points and getting 12 rebounds. His team won the game.
His strong play earned him an award. On January 16, 2017, he was named the NBA Development League Performer of the Week.
Short Stint with the Denver Nuggets (2017)
Because of his good performance, O'Bryant got a chance in the NBA again. On January 26, 2017, he signed a 10-day contract with the Denver Nuggets. He later signed a second 10-day contract with them.
Back to the Development League (2017)
After his contracts with the Nuggets ended, O'Bryant returned to the Northern Arizona Suns. He was even chosen to play in the NBA D-League All-Star Game. This showed he was one of the best players in that league.
Time with the Charlotte Hornets (2017–2018)
On February 24, 2017, O'Bryant signed a 10-day contract with the Charlotte Hornets. He quickly made an impact. On March 4, 2017, he scored a career-high 15 points. This helped the Hornets win against the Denver Nuggets. He then signed a second 10-day contract. On March 16, 2017, he signed a longer, multi-year contract with the Hornets.
On February 7, 2018, O'Bryant was traded to the New York Knicks. However, he was released by the Knicks the very next day.
Playing Overseas: Maccabi Tel Aviv (2018–2019)
On July 31, 2018, Johnny O'Bryant moved to Israel. He signed a one-year deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv, a team in the EuroLeague. This is a top basketball league in Europe.
He had an amazing game on December 27, 2018. He scored a career-high 32 points, including five three-pointers. He also had five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. His great performance helped Maccabi win a close game. Two days later, he was named the EuroLeague Round 15 MVP. This means he was the best player in the league for that week. O'Bryant and Maccabi Tel Aviv went on to win the 2019 Israeli League Championship.
Lokomotiv Kuban (2019–2020)
On August 14, 2019, O'Bryant joined Lokomotiv Kuban in Russia. This team plays in the VTB United League. He played very well, averaging 16.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. He signed to stay with the team in July 2020. However, he left the team in September due to a family matter.
Crvena Zvezda (2020–2021)
On October 19, 2020, O'Bryant signed with Crvena Zvezda from Serbia. This team plays in the Adriatic League and the EuroLeague. He had a disagreement with his coach in January 2021. Because of this, the team suspended him for 10 days. On February 21, the team decided to part ways with him.
Türk Telekom (2021)
On February 21, 2021, O'Bryant signed with Türk Telekom in Turkey. He played for them for the rest of that season.
Later that year, on September 29, 2021, the Milwaukee Bucks signed him again. This was for a training camp deal, but he did not make the final team roster. He was released on October 11.
Wonju DB Promy (2021–2022)
On November 15, 2021, O'Bryant signed with the Wonju DB Promy in the Korean Basketball League. He played for them for eight weeks. His contract ended on January 3, 2022. However, he re-signed with the team two days later for the rest of the season.
Meralco Bolts (2022)
On August 6, 2022, he signed with the Meralco Bolts in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was an "import" player for their team. He was supposed to be replaced after his team had a tough start. But he stayed when the new player was too tall for the league's rules. He was eventually replaced on October 31.
Shanghai Sharks (2022–2023)
In October 2022, O'Bryant signed with the Shanghai Sharks in the Chinese Basketball Association.
Ibaraki Robots (2023–2024)
On November 15, 2023, O'Bryant signed with the Ibaraki Robots in Japan's B.League. His contract with them ended on April 9, 2024.
Gigantes de Carolina (2024)
On July 12, 2024, O'Bryant signed with the Gigantes de Carolina in Puerto Rico. This team plays in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) league.
Uralmash Yekaterinburg (2024–2025)
On September 23, 2024, O'Bryant signed with Uralmash Yekaterinburg in Russia. They play in the VTB United League. The team and O'Bryant parted ways on January 9, 2025.
Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters (2025)
On January 13, 2025, O'Bryant signed with the Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters in the Korean Basketball League (KBL).
Johnny O'Bryant's Business Career
In 2017, O'Bryant started his own company called Noir Caesar. This company publishes anime and manga, which are types of Japanese comics and animation. In 2023, his company made a deal with Tokyopop, another well-known publisher.
