Johnson is a small town in Oklahoma. It covers an area of about 4.0 square miles (10.4 square kilometers). All of this land is dry, with no large lakes or rivers inside the town limits.
History of Johnson
In 1982, the people living in Johnson made an important decision. They chose to officially become a town. This was to stop a nearby city, Shawnee, from building a landfill close to their community. On May 11, 1982, the citizens voted on this idea. The vote was 77 in favor and 40 against, so Johnson became an official town.
