Jordana Spiro (born April 12, 1977) is an American actress, director, and writer. She is well-known for her roles in TV shows like Ozark on Netflix and the comedy My Boys on TBS.

Jordana has also directed and written films. Her first full-length movie as a director, Night Comes On, was shown at the famous Sundance Film Festival in 2018. She developed this film with help from the Sundance Institute. She also directed a short film called Skin, which won awards at festivals like SXSW and Sundance. Jordana earned a special degree in Film from Columbia University in 2015. She also studied acting at the Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York.

Early Life and Education

Jordana Spiro was born and grew up in New York City. She has a brother and three sisters. She studied acting at the Circle in the Square Theatre school. She also spent some time learning at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. In 2009, she started studying filmmaking at Columbia University, finishing her degree in 2015. Today, Jordana lives in both Los Angeles and New York.

Acting Career

Jordana Spiro began her acting career in the late 1990s. Her first movie role was in the 1999 film, From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter.

Early TV Roles

In 2000, Jordana starred in her first TV series, the USA crime drama The Huntress. In this show, she and co-star Annette O'Toole played a mother and daughter who were bounty hunters. The series ran for 28 episodes.

Jordana then starred in the TBS comedy series My Boys. She played P.J., a sports reporter who was a "guy's girl" and tried to find love among her many male friends. This popular series finished its fourth season in 2010.

Other Film and TV Appearances

Jordana also appeared in the 2009 comedy movie The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard. She acted alongside stars like Jeremy Piven and Ed Helms. The movie was produced by Will Ferrell.

She also had roles in films like The Year of Getting to Know Us, which was shown at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. She also appeared in Alone with Her. Jordana made guest appearances on popular TV shows such as Cold Case, Out of Practice, and CSI: NY.

In 2011, Jordana was a guest star on the Showtime series Dexter. For the 2012–2013 TV season, she had the main role in the Fox-TV medical drama The Mob Doctor.

Recent Work

More recently, Jordana Spiro starred as Rachel Garrison in the Netflix crime drama Ozark. This role brought her a lot of attention.

In 2024, Jordana joined the cast of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She plays Shannah Sykes, an FBI agent working with the special victims unit.

Jordana Spiro is married to Matthew Spitzer. They have one daughter together.
